S.T.A.R. Binders

What is a S.T.A.R. Binder?

It is a binder, put together by the teacher, that houses EVERYTHING students and parents need to stay informed about what is going on in school.  It stands for “Students Taking Academic Responsiblitiy."  Inside it will be an assignment sheet, reading log, papers to keep at home and papers to return to school.  I am hoping you will find this as a useful tool this year in second grade.

Why is it important to have a S.T.A.R. Binder?

It is important to have a S.T.A.R. Binder to help students establish good organizational skills during the beginning of elementary school.  It is also an excellent tool for parents to stay connected to the classroom and an easy way to promote home-school communication.  The S.T.A.R. Binder will come home every day, and it is the students' responsibility to show it to their family.  Parents, please initial the assignment sheet nightly.  Thank you!
