Hello!  My name is Kate Schoemaker and I am so excited to be working with you and your child this year!  This is my third year at Parkway Manor and I am thrilled to be on board as a Panther and be a part of such a wonderful community!

Prior to working at Parkway Manor, I worked in a neighboring district teaching kindergarten and gifted education for one year.  The year prior to that, I was at Ironton Elementary School, teaching in a support position.  I know just how special the Parkland School District is, because I am a Parkland graduate myself, and will always be Parkland Proud!

I graduated from West Chester University with my B.S. in Elementary Education K-6 and a minor in Spanish, and am currently taking courses at Wilkes University for my graduate degree in Instructional Technology.  I became a teacher because I wanted to make a positive difference on the future of children and develop a new generation of thinking individuals and problem-solvers.  I find it very rewarding to watch my students develop into respectful and responsible citizens.  I strive to create a classroom environment that meets the needs of a variety of learners and know that all students learn at different rates and in different ways.

Second grade is a fun year for your child, and we will be learning and exploring many different things throughout the school year!  I'm really looking forward to helping all of my students grow and find success this year.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending my time with my friends, family, traveling, going to see live music, crafting, and baking!  I just got a puppy last summer, Auggie, and cannot wait to share stories and adventures about him!  I can't wait for a fun-filled school year!
